Burning Girl Returning To ‘The Lost Colony’ 79th Season

Posted By on April 13, 2016

The “Burning Girl” made a fiery return to the stage in last year’s production of the The Lost Colony, and now we have confirmation that she will once again be featured among the highlights of this year’s 79th season of America’s longest running symphonic drama, premiering in May at the historic Waterside Theatre on Roanoke Island.

The Sentinel reports that the popular Burning Girl, a colonist who runs across the stage in flames during a climactic fight scene,  will once again be featured in this year’s production of The Lost Colony, following an extended hiatus before her resurrection in 2015.

The upcoming 2016 season of The Lost Colony will mark the 79th anniversary of the local production and will be dedicated to the National Park Service, which celebrates its own 100th anniversary this year, as the play is performed at the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, managed by the Park Service.

You can read more from our friends at The Sentinel about what you can expect from this year’s production here.

The Lost Colony opens on Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 27, for what promises to be a hot season.
