Taste of the Beach Spotlight: Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant

The 2016 Outer Banks Taste of the Beach is just around the corner, with dozens of events and delicious specials on the menu at numerous participating local restaurants for four days, March 17-20, and today we are spotlighting the specials and events happening at Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern! 

Traditional St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

Taste of the Beach kicks off this year on St. Patrick’s Day, and nobody on the Outer Banks does St. Patrick’s Day like Kelly’s, serving a tradition Irish dinner on Thursday, March 17 from 5 to 9pm, featuring corned beef and cabbage with roasted root vegetables and potatoes, plus Irish soda bread and Kelly’s famous sweet potato biscuits.  A generous plate is only $20. 

A Celebration of Northeast North Carolina

Kelly’s will serve up a celebration of the tastes of Northeast North Carolina on Friday, March 18 from 5 to 9pm, featuring five courses of Chef’s selections with distinct ale and wine pairings at each course. A remarkable value at just $50 and what will surely be a remarkable meal celebrating the seasonal specialties and wines of the region. An optional ticket without the wine/ale pairing is also available if you prefer.

Sample Menu includes (some changes may be made):
First Course:
Raw or Steamed Oysters (4) OR Grilled Vegetable Bruschetta
accompanied with Mother Earth Weeping Willow Witt
Second Course:
White Bean and Country ham Chowder OR Oyster Fritter topped with 3 Oysters (Rockefeller Casino, Remick)
accompanied with Biltmore Riesling
Third Course:
Mixed Green Salad with Champagne Vinaigrette topped with Seared Scallops;
accompanied with Shelton Chardonnay
Fourth Course:
Sliced Pork Tenderloin on Mint Enhanced Apples with Collard Greens and Sweet Potato Hash OR Pan-seared Rockfish with Dijon cream sauce and Grilled Shrimp with Collard Greens and Sweet Potato Hash;
accompanied with Sanctuary Vineyards Coastal Collage
Fifth Course:
Sweet Potato Crème Brule or Down East Bread Pudding with Bourbon Glaze;
accompanied with Sanctuary Vineyards Sweet Serenity

Tickets may be available at the door, but these events will fill up quickly so pre-ordering here is encouraged.
