‘Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks’ Adds All-Female Reel Action

Posted By on June 27, 2015

The upcoming second season of Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks (formerly Wicked Tuna: North vs. South) will feature some returning favorites as well as some new additions to the cast, including the first all-female boat to compete on the locally filmed series, the Reel Action, captained by Hatteras local Tami Gray.

On the heels of its fourth and highest-rated season of flagship hit series Wicked Tuna, National Geographic Channel once again pits Gloucester’s finest against the best Southern fishermen in the second season of the spinoff series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks, filmed on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, premiering on Sunday, July 19, at 9pm.

The full cast of Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks includes fan favorite and fourth-season Wicked Tuna champion Captain Dave Marciano and first mate Jay Muenzner of the Hard Merchandise; Captain Tyler McLaughlin and Co-Captain Paul Hebert of the Pinwheel; and Captain T.J. Ott of the Hot Tuna, representing Gloucester against the Outer Banks’ own Captain Greg Mayer, last season’s champion and captain of the Fishin’ Frenzy; Captain Britton Shackelford of the Doghouse; local legend Charlie “Griff” Griffin of the Reels of Fortune, and Captain Tami Gray of the Reel Action, who helms the series’ first all-female boat.

NatGeo has released a new promo video for the show, focusing on Gray, a new face to Wicked Tuna viewers but not necessarily to the Outer Banks fishing industry.
