OBX Entertainment Turns 3!

Posted By on February 8, 2015

Three years ago today, on February 8, 2012, OBXentertainment.com was officially launched with the goal of being the first locally owned and operated fully independent website on the Outer Banks, North Carolina to focus on entertainment news.

In our first three years since launching, we welcomed over half a million visitors to this site; had many of our articles picked up by some of the biggest websites in the world, including io9.com. People.com, and Bloody-Disgusting.com; interviewed dozens of celebrities from the local to the national level of pop culture; and we were the first to bring you exciting breaking news for our community, including Wicked Tuna filming on the Outer Banks; while providing unprecedented coverage of each of the area’s biggest entertainment events for our readers.

The internet landscape is always changing, and so OBX Entertainment is also constantly evolving, having expanded our brand into producing original content and launching the first ever Outer Banks web series OBXE TV in 2014, and presenting the inaugural Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes, a new annual community tradition that returns to Nags Head on October 25, 2015.

As we begin our fourth year, we plan to continue to provide the same coverage our readers have come to expect from us, as we also look forward to Season 2 of OBXE TV beginning in March, the 2nd Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes in October, and maybe some other surprises we are working on.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you, our loyal readers, for all allowing us into your lives if only for a few minutes each day. We know that there are many “similar” sites out there vying for your time, but those who read OBXentertainment.com every day know that there really is no one else that does what we do on the Outer Banks, and we want to express our sincerest gratitude for your continued support.

Finally, we want to open this site up for more conversation, so please voice your opinions in the comments section here on this post or anywhere throughout the site. See something you like? Let us know you want to to see more of it. See something you think we could do better at? Let us hear your criticisms too, as we certainly aim to please our fans first and foremost.

Thank you all again for a great first three years!

Sincerely,

– Matt and Sue Artz
