Village Realty Donates $10,000 To Outer Banks Angel Gift Fund

For the fourth year in a row, Village Realty has matched its employees’ fundraising efforts and donated to the Outer Banks Women’s Club Angel Gift fund.

Now in its 36th year, The Angel Gift fund, a partnership between The Outer Banks Women’s Club and Dare County Department of Social Services, aims to assist families and children in having their needs met and wishes fulfilled during this holiday season. Since 2010, Village Realty has matched every dollar that its employees raise each year, donating the sum to this worthy community charity. On December 8, Village Realty property manager Emily Lewis presented the company’s 2014 donation and followed up with an email to Village Realty employees, stating “Thank you so much for participating in our Christmas fundraisers for the Angel Gift Fund. I just had the honor of presenting a check for $10,038 to the Outer Banks Women’s Club on behalf of Village Realty! We have more than doubled our contribution amount since we started this annual fundraising tradition in 2010. The Angel Gift Fund is helping 330 children in need this year.”

In addition to the collection of $1 per day from each employee who wished to wear jeans to work, not normally a part of the professional dress code, each department decided on their own creative method of raising money for the Angel Gift Fund. Held throughout the year, the individual fundraising efforts included an online wreath sale, conducted by the rental department, while the housekeeping department organized two yard sales to raise money for the cause. The accounting and human resources departments contributed by holding an art auction, during which they raffled off two handmade quilts (made by a Village Realty employee). The sales department hosted a soup, chili and chowder cook-off and bake sale, while the association management, maintenance and marketing departments organized a breakfast with Santa. The fundraisers were so successful that they doubled what was raised in 2010.

Village Realty’s commitment to extraordinary customer service has served homeowners and vacationers on the Outer Banks for more than twenty years. Specializing in vacation rentals, real estate sales and association management services, the locally owned and managed company is committed to contributing to the betterment of its community through many generous donations.
