Outer Banks Pro 2013 To Start Friday

The 2013 Wave Riding Vehicles Outer Banks Pro surfing contest returns to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head this Labor Day Weekend, and contest directors have just made the decision that today will be a Lay Day, with competition officially beginning tomorrow, August 30.

From the official event Facebook page: “Lay Day today. We’re going to let the wind build the swell all day and tonight.
8am start tomorrow.”

Professional surf competition is scheduled will start at 8am tomorrow, August 30, running through Labor Day Monday, September 2.

Presented by Hurley as part of the Western Atlantic Surf Series, this year’s contest returns to the south side of Jennette’s Pier at Whalebone Junction in Nags Head, with a total purse of $30,00 in prize money up for grabs.
