Weekend Movie Update – Aug. 30, 2013: Labor Day ‘Getaway’

Your Labor Day Weekend Getaway arrives in theaters this week, along with your 3D backstage pass to the latest boy band pop sensation, while the ultimate battle of giant robots against even bigger monsters comes to The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of August 30, 2013!

Director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) creates a massive new world in the epic adventure Pacific Rim (rated PG13), where humans built giant robots to battle against an army of huge monsters from the sea, playing at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Leading this week’s new releases, Ethan Hawke (Training Day) and former Disney starlet Selena Gomez (Spring Breakers) want to take you on a Getaway (rated PG13), premiering at 10pm tomorrow night (Thursday) and opening on Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

The only other new release playing locally this week is the concert film One Direction: This Is US in 3D (rated PG), premiering tomorrow night with screenings starting at 7pm and opening on Friday also at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.
