Celebrate Thanksgiving History at Island Farm's Fall Foodways

Island Farm c.1847 in Manteo is hosting Island Foodways this month, a Thanksgiving event featuring historical interpreters demonstrating how an 1850s family would prepare and preserve foods for the coming winter months on the Outer Banks.

Island Foodways will be held from 10am to 4pm on Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24 at Island Farm on Roanoke Island.

Admission is $6 for adults and free for ages 5 and under.

Those who bring a nonperishable canned good to be donated to the local Food Pantry will receive $1 off admission.
