Excitement is building for the first ever Bud Light Lime Surf Series Labor Day Cup in Nags Head.
Bud Light Lime and Hurley have announced a partnership for the Hurley Pro, an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Championship Tour event, and the top three surfers from the upcoming Labor Day Cup will get to paddle out for this innaugural contest at Lower Trestles, California!
As part of the official beer sponsorship, the Hurley Pro, happening September 16-22, will feature the Bud Light Lime Expression Session Showcase (BLL Showcase) – which will pit a team of World Tour surfers against a team of athletes selected from the Bud Light Lime Surf Series (BLLSS).
Eight surfers invited from the BLLSS and four World Tour athletes will participate in the BLL Showcase. Dylan Goodale, Nathaniel Curran and Torrey Meister – awarded slots in the Showcase for their recent finishes at the BLLSS Oceanside event – will be joined by the top three surfers from the BLLSS Labor Day Cup in Nags Head, North Carolina.
Additionally, two wild cards will be awarded to one athlete from the Oceanside event and one from the Labor Day Cup contest.

Owned and operated by IMG, The Bud Light Lime Surf Series are invitational contests that feature 32 men and eight women with two stand alone events in 2012.
“Many of the guys who participate in the BLLSS have been on the World Tour and there are several who went the free surf route. It should be really interesting to see their mixture of talents and experience against the World Tour competitors on a high performance wave like Lowers and in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers on the webcast,” said Chris Conrad, IMG VP and BLLSS Event Director.
