Lukas Nelson – Son of Country Icon Returns to Kelly's [Concert Preview]
Lukas Nelson, the son of music icon Willie Nelson, brings his own strain of country-rock back to Kelly’s in Nags Head on Friday, May 11th!
It’s been said by those that have heard him live that “music is in the DNA” of Lukas Nelson. Watching him jam with his legendary father in the player below, recorded live at Farm Aid 25, it’s easy to see why.
When Nelson’s band Promise of the Real first played Kelly’s last year, it was in their contract that the show could not be promoted in any way as featuring Willie Nelson’s son, though some fans may have been clued in if they noticed the elder Nelson’s custom tour bus parked outside the local venue.
This time; however, OBX Entertainment was asked to break the exclusive announcement that Lukas Nelson will return to Nags Head on May 11th!
A new cd is due in April, suggesting Nelson may test out some material from the upcoming release at the Nags Head show.
On a rise and gaining positive reviews since its formation, the band has already made the rounds in Hollywood, appearing on The Tonight Show in January 2011.
They also played The Late Show in February 2011. You can watch them rock “Four Letter Word” in the player below!
If anyone doubts the ‘chops’ of Willie’s boy, watch Promise of the Real tearing threw “Hoochie Coochie Man” at Red Rocks in the player below and rest easy!
Lukas Nelson returns to Kelly’s in Nags Head on Friday, May 4th.
Showtime is 9:30pm.
